"Edge of Seventeen" Lyrics (Stevie Nicks) I love this song. It is classic Stevie! However, what is this about? Is she referring to a love she had at 17? There seems to be a lot more going on here with the lyrics. I mean, what with the dove and going again - maybe tomorrow, and the music being hauntingly familiar. Great lyrics, don't get me wrong, but somewhat vague about what exactly they refer to. Thoughts? Just like the white winged dove Just like the white winged dove And the days go by like a strand in the wind He was no more than a baby then Just like the white winged dove Just like the white winged dove Well, I went today Well, I see you doing what I try to do for me Just like the white winged dove Just like the white winged dove The clouds, never expect it And so with the slow graceful Ooa Just like the white winged dove Just like the white winged dove Well, then suddenly Well, I went searchin' for an answer Just like the white winged dove Just like the white winged dove Well, I hear you in the morning and Just like the white winged dove Just like the white winged dove

She wrote it when she heard about John Lennons' death and also at the same time one of her beloved uncles had died as well in hospital, so basically its a song about death and trying to find comfort and solace during that difficult time!! | |
