The Guess Who were an amazing band. They have many great songs. Burton Cummings still sounds great today.

I've often wondered how big they were outside of Canada? I think they deserved to be huge, but not sure if that ever happened.

Burton Cummings still sounds great. He did well. Dunno if he is known internationally either.

Yeah that would be interesting and for other bands such as April Wine, Aldo Nova, Streetheart, Chiliwack............... Rush and Trooper did well internationally.

The Guess Who were pretty popular when I was a teenager. They had a string of hits & then released a live album.The version of American Woman performed had Cummings substituting the word woman with bitch. Some folks felt this was anti-American as it came from a Canadian band. Sometime after that Randy Bachman left the band to form Bachman-Turner Overdrive. Then the hits stopped coming. At least that's how I remember it.

The Guess Who did OK in the US, thanks to 'American Woman'. Randy is an amazing guitarist. I toured with BTO in the early 80's, but when members went their own way and lawsuits over the name ensued, it was over - but Randy and Fred (Turner) still tour - in fact they are currently touring the US. Randy has a great show on CBC radio - Vinyl Tap - full of great stories and music of the past. In the old days, I don't know if Randy still does it - but he used to make the most exquisite leather bags (Brave Belt). I own one and if I knew how to throw a pic up I would. Take my word for it - .
