Okay, would someone please fill me in on what's the deal with Pete Burns? Here in America, Dead or Alive virtually fell off the planet after "Come Home With Me Baby" (1989). Since then, they have re-released what seems like dozens of "You Spin Me 'Round" remixes and occasional greatest hits compilations. Over the years, thanks to youtube, I've seen a plastic surgery debacle that led to lip and jaw amputations, Pete on the U.K.'s "Celebrity Big Brother," and the emergence of someone unrecognizeable as Pete Burns from the 80's. What the hell happened? Does he want to be a woman? Did he go through with gender reassignment? Will there ever be new material from Dead or Alive? I just can't believe it is even the same guy! To think, in high school, there were girls who were in love with Pete Burns and had posters up in their lockers from the "Brand New Lover" era. Pete Burns - What's up with that?

I always find it funny how bizarre this man/woman/transvestite thing is. Why is he so interested in his lips being pumped up to resemble dayton stabilised balloons?

A truly bizarre person and really of marginal musical talent, 2 or 3 hits, singing rather averagely no real musical instrument ability, hardly surprising his career is reduced to celebrity wash up shows and bizarre pr stunts like having his lips look like rubber tubes. Still a million times better than all these minstrel show shit hoppers

Sorry man... but as much of an asshole as Burns is dude has vocal chops i would say he is an above average singer for sure.

He is very theatrical and over the top but he pulls it off within DOA cheesy songs

I LOVE Pete's voice. He really seperated himself during a time period where just about every pop band leader sounded the same: that depressed teenager meets David Bowie sound. I've always seen Burns as an individual. Dead Or Alive made some really stupid songs but I love them because of Pete's flamboyance.

Oh man, I love me some DOA and Pete Burns. Yes the songs are mad cheesy but I love how dramatic he is and over the top with his look and vocal stylings. Pete Burns looks scary as hell these days. I don't understand why he hasdone this to himself. It's sad cuz he was good looking before he started messing with his face but I still listen to DOA from time to time. Son of a gun, I'd do anyting and I wanna be a toy are among my faves!
