Night of My Life is growing on me. In my opinion I don't necessarily think it's EW&F, but it's a fun dance song.

that's one of the best songs on the album nod

For those of you who have the CD, what are your thoughts?

First of all, I would recommend the Target Version which has 12 tracks instead of 10 (2 of the tracks on the regular version are instrumentals).

I was kinda diggin the first 4 or 5 songs then things started to fall apart for me. I don't necessarily know if I'm going to remember any of the songs from this album a few days from now. I know that he's older now but Phillip's voice doesn't pack anywhere near the same punch as it used to.

The CD is certainly better than 95% of the new albums released this year but I don't hear any future classics on this one.

The first half of the CD is very good."Love Is Law" and "Guilding Light" are nice Quiet storm songs music

I think I may have been a bit harsh in my first post. The album is growing on me.There are no future classics here, but it's a decent album...mellow,laid-back.....to me,this album is alot like Avatar/In The Name Of Love, but without Sheldon Reynolds on vocals.

one observation: I have noticed that, after Millenium,Earth Wind & Fire's albums seem to be mostly quiet storm music.Millenium was the last album that featured a perfect balance between uptempo jams and slow tracks. The two albums that followed,Avatar and The Promise, were mellower and laid-back.Nothing wrong with this and I know that as you get older, you don't feel the need to jump around at the clubs anymore lol you gotta slow things down. Now,Then And Forever is a nice, breezy effort.

That is the version I bought. There's also a Best Buy version that features two bonus tracks (remixes of old tracks,"Can't Hide Love" and "Shining Star").It has a better cover photo than the Target version...

Just barley missed the Top 10 but still good news for a band that's been in the business for over 40 years.

lol
But they also had a number one hit R&b with System of Survival and number 3
Thinking Of You in 1987 from the Touch The World album. I saw the Best Buy
version of the new album Monday. I just haven't heard anything that inspires me to buy it right now. I will probably wait and get it for the cheap on Amazon later.

Sold nearly 27k in its first week. That's not bad for a 70s funk/R&B band.
