Berlin (Terri Nunn) Returns with "Animal"

Berlin ("Take My Breath Away" fame) returns September 17th with a new CD: "Animal." You can sample songs on Amazon, including all 11 new tunes. There is a remix of the title song/first single, as well as their cover of Jefferson Airplane's "Somebody to Love." Nice to see/hear them back and Terri Nunn continues to carry on with the band.

I heard about this and definitely can't wait til it comes out. The first single is a ballad which I was dissapointed by. I hope there are more upbeat electro/rock jams on the album. I love Belin. cool

Had menitione this a few weeks back when i posted a thread about The Original Founding member Dan Van Patten, who with Chris Velasco and John Crawford founded the band but John is the only one you see with Teri once the debut EP was done, both Van Patten and Velasco played a part on that one but then left.

I sometimes chat with Teri through facebook and also ex Berlin members Ric Olsen and John Crawford, John had released 2 solo cds through his website and then really kinda disappeared again and put out a bunch of songs for free on Reverbnation. Teri is supercool and really kept this band going though with different members on and off lately, the albums she has released "Voyeur" and "4PLAY" and also 2 Eps through their site, were really good work, im seeing with this album the return more to a dance/keyboard feel, the other work was pretty heavy though some dance it was a little bit more edgy on Rock. I wasnt surprised the first single was a ballad because they are going all out on this, the band did a video, but make no mistake, the showcase now is mainly on Teri hence her name being seperate. I think she is very overlooked for her place in Music as a woman and the things that band did early on that pushed the envelope and broke the ground for todays artists, and also that her vocals are on of the best ever.

I had a listen to the samples on Amazon and it definitely sounds like synth pop but with a modern twist. Hopefully not too modern though. I still wnat that 80s vibe they do so well. I'm happy they're still making music, though Terri is the only original member. You're right that she's underrated as a female rock musician. She's got a great voice and she's still going strong.
