Eminem unveils 'aggressive' new track Survival By Jason Chester| Little is known about Eminem’s forthcoming eighth studio album, but expectant fans have had their appetites whetted with the unveiling of a brand new track called Survival. The aggressive, rock infused song has been used in a trailer for video game Call of Duty: Ghosts and is the first taste of what to expect when the 40-year-old rapper drops his eagerly anticipated new album later this year. Featuring vocals from Skylar Grey, Survival sees Eminem back on form as he prepares to release his first collection of fresh material since the release of 2010 album Recovery. That LP featured collaborations with the likes of Pink, Lil Wayne and Rihanna – whose duet on Love the Way You Lie earned them a number one hit in twenty countries and Eminem a Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance.Further details about the new album – including a title and official release date - are yet to be revealed, but the rapper will be hoping to replicate the success of his last release when it finally drops. Speaking NME, record producer Alchemist – a long term collaborator – said that Eminem was ‘just getting back on his feet’ with his last two records, Recovery and its 2009 predecessor, Relapse. Incoming: Eminem will release his yet to be titled eighth studio album later thiis year Of what to expect from the album he said: ‘Clearly going to further territories. I think what you would expect, especially after the last go-round. ‘He was just getting his feet back on Relapse and then Recovery just came with the smash hits and everything and I think now – he’s Eminem.’ Artists expected to feature on the new record include Big Sean and Kendrick Lamar, while comedian Chris Rock is also said to be making an appearance. Dr. Dre - instrumental in launching Eminem's career back in the late 90's - recently confirmed that his friend was close to finishing work on the new record. 'Em is finishing up his project. And for me, I've just got inspired again to go back into the studio,' he said. 'I'm just really having fun with life and having fun with being creative and trying new and different things with myself.' Speaking earlier this year, Shady Records President Paul Rosenberg said the album will be released ‘post-Memorial Day.’ Special guests: The rapper's new album will feature appearances from Kendrick Lamar and Big Sean, amongst others He told Billboard: ‘He’s been working on it for some time. It’s safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day at some point, but we’re not exactly sure when. ‘We’ve got some dates locked in for him to perform live in Europe in August, so we’re trying to see what else lines up.’ Three of those European dates include a performance at Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park on August 20 before he headlines at the Reading and Leeds Festivals when they take place between August 23-25. Meanwhile fans have been tweeting their appreciation of the new track on micro-blogging site Twitter, with many posting choice lyrics, amongst them ‘They said I was washed up, and I got a blood bath/I’m not a rapper, I’m and adapter’ and ‘I must be allergic to failure, ‘cause every time I come close to it I just sneeze.’ Versatile rapper, producer and actor Sean 'P Diddy' Combs has also been tweeting about new track, which follows hot on the heels of new albums from Kanye West and Jay-Z. He wrote: 'Damn it's a good week for Hip-Hop!!! Made one of the greats Eminem drop a record!!! This what's been missin!! (sic).' Just Music-No Categories-Enjoy It!

i like bezerk a lot. sounds like an expensive track. definitely has a "botique" feel....but with an anger vibe instead of poppy bragadociousness.

I'm underwhelmed. Eminem sounds like he's on auto-pilot on this track. Hasn't he done other songs similar to this already. I get the humor in mentioning Khloe and Kevin Federline but it kinda fell flat for me because again, he's done this before. There's little shock value in name dropping perfectly harmless people who has nothing to do with Hip Hop or Rap music in general. It's old now. - With that being said. I will be checking for more songs from him. I don't sleep on his skills. Dude is nice. Maybe he just wanted something to get him back on the radio. That's it. This is his radio joint. The hook is the most coherent and catchy part of the song. Decent message even if he's done it before and better.

I agree with a lot of what you said. I think it's old that he name drops people that have nothing to do with Hip Hop as well but actually like the song. Ilike the old skool vibe to it and that he finally gave props to the Beastie Boys. I always wondered why he never mentions the people that paved the way for him. I also like that the track is lighter. Less drama and angry vibes, though I'm sure the new album will feature those moments as well.

Maybe i'll have to listen to them again. As of right now I have to pass on both tracks. Berzerk is a cool nod to the Beastie Boys but the lyrics sound recycled. As a fan you can't just accept anything Em puts out or he will stop pushing himself and become content with doing mediocre tracks. Hopefully the other stuff is better. Kendrick Lamar seems like he is running the Hip Hop Game all by himself lately. I know what Emenim is capable of so he needs to step it up. Or will be saying his best days are behind him.
