Unbelievable. If only he'd lived long enough to see that gay marriage is now possible, RuPaul and Boy George are a part of the mainstream culture, and his voice has influenced almost 3 decades... I am sure he'd be smiling. He met a tragic end that, at the time, seemed inevitable. It's sad to think that so many talented and lovely people have died of AIDS and its complications.

The producer of Do Ya Wanna Funk died soon after the song was made. I think it's ashame that it took large amounts of heterosexual death for people really to open their eyes to how bad a disease it was.
