Aretha Franklin was scheduked to appear in Chicago on this Saturday to get an award from Major League Baseball THE FREEDOM AWARD. Due to her still undergoing medical treatements, Miss Franklin has cancelled attending. MLB thought as of last week she would be there in person.

Since performing on American Idol via satellite in May for the season ending finale show, Franklin has cancelled all concert apperances and recording sessions with Babyface and Danger Mouse due to this 'medical treatment' for an unspecified illness. A show for September in Atlanta was cancelled with the short release from her publicist saying, "Due to unfortunate circumstances".

In 2010 Aretha was hospitalized for surgery that was deemed "serious" by the Rev. Jesse Jackson. Franklin stated in an interview she had a tumor, but no more details ever came forth.

From May to here in August there have been no known public appearances of Aretah Franklin. What kind fo treatmenst would one be having that would result in a 90 day M.I.A.?
