Love her. Saw her once in the 90's and she rocked it. She also played Brooklyn 2 years in a row in Coney Island. Pissed I didn't see her.

I used to think she was a def to get in that when i saw the struggles of the Wilsons and Heart, i noticed the MALE bias of the HALL. As Ann Wilson said, it seemed alot of people get into that Hall Of Fame (females) that are "Friends" with the guys already in . I think she should get in, but theres a long line that starts way before her, but for the females that should be in , i put her behind Pat Benatar right now to get in.

Joan Jett: No point in Runaways reunion

Martin Kielty at 12:31pm August 23 2013

Joan Jett ex of the Runaways

Joan Jett can’t see the point in a Runaways reunion – and she thinks there would be more bad than good if it ever took place.

.

Lita Ford last year reported that she, Jett and Cherie Currie had settled the differences resulting from their 1980 split, that she’d had dinner with both her former bandmates, and that the topic of getting back together had been raised.

.

But she added: “I don’t know how Joan feels about it. I couldn’t get a solid answer from her. If she decides she wants to put together the Runaways again, I’d be in 100 per cent.”

.

Now Jett tells LA Weekly: “I don’t really get why we should do it – the down side is bigger than the up side. It would be fun for people to see, but you’ve got to remember we’re not who we were in 1976.

.

“It’s not worth it to me. We had a great band that kicked ass for three and a half years. I’m very protective of it because it was very special to me.

.

“To come back and have the press judge us… Plus, you can’t gauge the dynamics of the band. I’m just not sure it would be the reunion the fans are looking for.”

.

Instead, Jett is concentrating on her new album Unvarnished. She explains: “It’s some of the better writing I’ve done in a long time.

.

“I called this ‘the decade of death’ because I lost a lot of people who were close to me. That changes your perspective on things.

.

“Losing my parents was big. They were very supportive, my biggest fans. It was harder than I would have imagined. That seeped into my writing a lot, and I thought about life’s fragility.”

.

Unvarnished is released in October.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Runaways Ford and Currie team up

Track time: Lita Ford

.

Former Runaways Lita Ford and Cherie Currie have teamed up to record a Christmas track together.

.

Ford had been talking up a Runaways reunion in the past months – but Joan Jett recently appeared to put the blocks on the idea, saying she couldn’t think why they’d want to do it, adding: “the down side is bigger than the up side.

.

That hasn’t stopped Ford and singer Currie laying down a track for release later this year. The guitarist tells PsychoBabbleTV.com: “My old drummer called me and says, ‘Lita, let’s record a Christmas song.’ So I thought, ‘What do you want to do – Jingle Bells?’ He said, ‘No, let’s write something new.’

.

“I got out a pen and paper and I thought, ‘Let’s rock this Christmas down.’ So we started writing a song called Let’s Rock This Christmas Down.”

.

Ford had only recently got back in touch with Currie, after not having spoken since the Runaways split in 1980.

.

She explains: “It just so happened that Cherie was on the phone just after we’d talked about recording this song. I said, ‘Why don’t you sing it with me?’ So she flew in, came straight from the airport to the studio, cut the vocal track – and we have a Christmas single with me and Cherie singing lead vocals.”
