'90s Underrated Gem of the Day: Lorenzo - Make Love 2 Me (1992) Man, I was in love with this song as a teen in the early '90s! It was in heavy rotation on the radio in my area, so I was shocked when it just missed the R&B Top 20. Anybody else a fan of this gem? The follow-up, "I Can't Stand the Pain," was also excellent. Actually, that whole album wasn't bad.

Wow, why was he not a bigger sensation? For the time period, he is kind of a cross between Bobby Brown and Genuwine (all the good parts). It would be interesting to see what he'd put out today. (I have to admit, things from Chris Brown, Kanye, and Ne-Yo don't hold a candle to this kind of stuff from the early 90's.) | |

Well, there was a lot of competition in that space in those days. His biggest hit was "Real Love," which peaked at #6 R&B earlier in '92.

Love "Tic Tok"! It's actually older than the rest of the album.
