Blu-Spec CD2 Discs

I've been contemplating getting a few of the Blu-Spec CD2 discs that are out now. However, I don't know if it's worth it or not to buy another copy of an album I have 2 or 3 copies of. Does anyone here recommend them? Can you really tell the difference?

Seems like a waste.

How about investing in something like a BBE Maximizer instead?

Not a bad investment.

These discs are supposed to be made with the same blu laser that blu-ray discs are made of. They are supposed to cut down on the distortion that you hear on some older cds. I'm just wondering if it's worth it to pay $25 for a cd that's manufactured this way.

Good question.

Once u try that BBE..............U won't need 2 pay $25/disk.

Those audiophile CD players that cost thousands of dollars are said to this too, but I've never heard one.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Hmmm....I would LOVE to see one.

Are SACD players and discs considered audiophile cd players also?

Anything that plays bakc on a normal cd player is going to be no diffrent from a normal cd.Whereas if you buy the blu spec hi-def discs as below you will get 24/96 mastered audio.I got the 'Songs in the key of life' title it's never sounded better the detail/depth is amazing!!http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=11097

It is my understanding that playing these new disc in a Blu-ray dvd player will do the trick.

Here's a few by a company named Shanling

SACD is a special CD, but the players play regular CDs. I don't think SACDs work on a regular CD player though. Here is a video describing a new one made by Luxman. It's kind of technical talk, and I don't really know what some of it means. lol

Here's a place that sell CD players:

Music Direct

and these are some features about 2013 audio shows:

CES Las Vegas

High End trade show

I have some The Kinks SACD and they play on my normal CD player without problems.
