She could use Solange's help I think. Not for a "Single Ladies", but for direction in style at least.

I doubt that she's scrapped her new album and is starting over from scratch. I think she's just in delay mode, trying to fine comb the marketplace for when the best time to release it. Like someone else said, she's just laying low to avoid a collision with other high profile releases slated for the fourth quarter, is trying to cook up some way to effectively promote new material and in the meantime is hiding behind the tour.
If I were her, I'd pull a MJB/Breakthrough move and release it a week before Christmas; by then most of the bigger releases will probably have been released around Black Friday, and the stage can be hers.

I seriously doubt that would happen but she (and her recorld label) should take a cue from Prince and recognize that the success of Single Ladies and its parent album was a once-in-a-lifetime thing that probably won't happen again- ever. Further collabloration with Solange would be a good idea. As far as a possible direction, maybe the current success of Robin Thicke might inspire her to go 70's retro. She's dabbled in it a bit before with remixes by Maurice Joshua (Say My Name and others). As far as delaying an album's release because of competion, wasn't 4 released only a week after Britney's Femme Fatale album and in the end, actually outsold it even though none of the singles ever made it into the Billboard top 10 and maybe 3 of Britney's did? I know they do. I just wish she would put a little more purpose in her music. #WishfulThinking **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

A lot of people here I know got excited for her Superbowl and got tour tickets right away. I feel like they are so hyped up over her, but I personally think she already peaked as a solo performer with the first 3 albums, especially the 2nd and 3rd album eras with the music she put out then. But I guess it's nice she's being a "grown woman" and realizing songs like Bow Down are garbage

I give her props for having successful tour with no new material, but her "reign" is coming to an end. 4 under-performed, even her fans will tell you that. She had no pop hits from that album. I think she's nervous people might be losing interest.
The Superbowl was the perfect place to debut a single, but she didn't do it. Yeah she real scared.

I think she looks nice with short hair. I wish it was black tho, and not blonde.

I kinda wish she had scrapped 4. That was another album that had no direction or theme. I knew it when she titled it 4.

Yeah, that should have been a dead giveaway right there.

- - If she did that she would definitely have to compete with other big artists because all records labels are thinking about the same thing. I know plenty of artists and labels strategically plan on their release dates similiar to movie studios calculating when its best to open their films in theatres. Everyone wants to be No.1. So I don't blame a label for looking out at the musical landscape and deciding when they think its best to drop an album. - I guess my problem is, don't act like you're a Queen oh excuse me, a "King B" and then be worried about the release dates of others. If you're really Queen/King, it shouldn't matter because your minions will follow your command and purchase your release, regardless of someone else coming out at the same time. - - I think that would be a horrible idea. At this stage in her career she should not be preoccupied with others success. Besides, that would be too obviously contrived anyway. She just needs to slow her fine ass down enough and discover her inspiration on her own. Turn the machine off Beyonce and figure out what you want to say/sing. - - [Edited 8/9/13 11:18am]
