Shocked. He was set to play at the Lowcounty Jazz Festival in Charleston, SC at the end of the month. Wow. I just can't imagine music without George Duke. His 1978 album Let It Go was my introduction to him and it will always be a special album for me. Don't laugh at my funk

I was just looking at this:
a couple of months ago. He was so full of life and energy. You just never know.
RIP

So sad. His last production was with Teena Marie on "Ball and Chain," I believe and he was also responsible for some big hits with Niecy Williams as well as A Taste of Honey and production for France Joli's 1985 "Witch of Love" album among very many others as well. Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up. | |

The death of George Duke was posted on Sweetwater's website, needless to say this came a shock. My condolences to his family; to have lost ones parents within a span of a couple of months, I can't imagine.
One of my favorite artist; may Mr. George Duke, Rest In Peace.

Wow I'm shocked. This really hit me hard. If you look at his schedule you can tell he lived, loved and breathed music everyday of his life all the way up to his death. I have nothing but respect for this man.
