Society of Soul (Question)

Just a question, but would you be interested in reading about the rise and fall of Organized Noize's funk group Society of Soul? Eighteen years after the release of their only album Brainchild, do people still care?

I'm going to say no. I don't think they had any major impact with just one album. The album was really good, but has been forgotten.

Now if there was a full project about socially conscience music from the 90s comes out, it would be cool to incorporate them into the story line.

Thank you for your impact. I suppose in my mind, they seemed much more important then they were. My editor keeps telling me "nobody cares." I guess he's right. Thanks again...

I actually meant "insight."

from the dope interludes featuring Big Rube on OutKast and Goodie Mob joints, my interest was piqued, always thought Org Noize had and was capable of a depth that needed to be highlighted and contrasted against the mainstream hip hop content. I copped Brainchild but was underwhelmed by it. Only the single EMBRACE got play with me. Maybe i'll go back and dig out the album to see if i've slept too long. but yeah, they were a blip on the radar, and only for those familiar with the extended Outkast fam.

Have u thought about a piece just on Organized Noize? That might actually work better. That way, you could encompass their work with TLC, Outkast, En Vogue and others. Their work was outstanding (overall).

You're so right. I loved their work back in the '90s. Vibe did a dope piece a few years ago on Organized Noize that was really informative of that era.
