Interesting video, thanks for posting it.The new album sounds pretty good, but I hate the fact that Maurice White isn't involved. It just won't be the same without him.The one thing I would have liked to see is all the original members (Larry Dunn,Al McKay,Maurice,etc...the classic 70s lineup) reuniting one more time, for a final album and a possible tour.

I hear you regarding Maurice...tough call......even though Phil and the rest of them are important figures in the Legend that is EWF, Maurice is the main man....

So is it truly EWF if he isnt a big part of the album, even though we know it is not by choice, but is because of his illness?? Should they even try to create new music if he cannot participate in some way...

I dont have a good answer......my head tells me if the music is good, and I have to say as an avid fan I like what I've heard so far, then the end justifies the means, but my heart tells me that Maurice will be sorely missed......the voice, the lyrics, the interplay of his voice and Phil's.....no real way to ignore the fact it is not the same.....

IMO they still put on a heck of a show, so I have grown to accept the fact that he is not on stage with them performing, but not hearing his voice the way I have been accustomed to for the past 40 yrs will be a bitter pill to have to swallow...

To me,without Maurice,it just isn't Earth Wind and Fire shrug In the 90s,I went to several EW&F concerts but after awhile,I decided to stop seeing them. They actually perform in my area in September but I didn't even bother to get tickets.I'm not mad at them or anything like that.I just decided that, without Maurice,it's not really the same band anymore. It's more like three original members and a bunch of new musicians.I remain focused on the 'old' line-up from the glory days.I hope Maurice is working on some EW&F-related projects, such as that EW&F coffee table book of rare photographs that he promised many years ago.Maybe there is some live footage in the vault that could be released on DVD?

I know I heard he had written a Biography that I think Steve harvey was involved in....not sure if that is on the agenda to be released this year....

I understand what you are saying....Maurice has always been my favorite Element in EWF, although I love the synergies created with all the original members pooling their respective talents.....It isnt the same, for sure......But, i have been able to overcome the fact that he isnt there and so I do support the current group with Phil Verdine and Ralph on tour....I will be seeing them at Hollywood Bowl.....As I understand from his son who is working with EWF on the tour, , there is a possibility that Maurice might show up at those events if he is doing well, so that would be the biggest bonus one could hope for at this point...
