That's not the original. It was by Skylark. New Birth was known for doing remakes. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. Not bad by Color Me Badd. I liked the stripped back feel.
I like New Birth's the most. Something about Leslie Wilson and the breakdown towards the end. The O' Jays are my second favorite. You can't go wrong with Eddie Levert in his prime. | |
