Over 20 years after making their debut, TLC is plotting a comeback. The best-selling R&B group is planning to make a big announcement next week that includes a new album and a surprise.

Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas will be on hand at a press conference next Thursday in New York along with Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid. It is believed that they have inked a new deal with the music mogul, who signed them to LaFace Records in 1991.

According to a media alert from Epic Records, the duo will preview new music from their upcoming greatest hits album and play a sneak peek of their VH1 made-for-TV movie CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.

Plus, a “special guest” will be on hand for a surprise announcement.

The group’s longtime producer Dallas Austin has been working on the album, which will commemorate the group’s 20 year-anniversary. “We took a lot of the old songs and remastered them. We mixed them just to tweak them, make them better,” he told Rap-Up TV.

He also revealed some of the potential guest stars. “They did something with J. Cole, they might be doing something with Drake,” said Austin.

TLC will also make their return to the U.S. stage at the Mixtape Festival at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, PA on July 26-27.

Didn't they already attempt to make a "comeback" awhile back? It never really seems to work out for them.

Their resurgence is now assured mostly because of the visionary leadership of L.A. Reid! He has that golden touch.

I never really was a Left-Eye fan, so I'm slightly curious about what this album will sound like. Chilli did turn me off with her crappy TV show, though.....

Really excited about this! Although not the same without LeftEye. Would also like to add how negative this whole site is. It disgust me! That is why I stopped posting on here very much.

i agree with u on all u said im excited i grew up on tlc so im hoping they can rebound they deserve it. but far as the negative here look at how they treat prince here on a so called prince fan site horrible

I love Left-Eye, but honestly beside a rap here and there, she wasn't much of a presence content wise. She never sang, so if there was no rap on the track she wasn't on it. I say replace her with a quality rapper who can also contribute to vocals (they seem to come a dime a dozen nowadays) and they can come back. There is the question of their age though. They ain't as young as they used to be and youthfulness is part of that groups aesthetic.

Unless the "big announcement" is Lisa Lopes is back from the dead, ain't shit else to hear from TLC.

LOVE this group. Now this was a REAL group where each member contributed something. They ALL had talent, beauty,swag, style. charima, personality and funky ass music!!

As much as I would love to hear new music, it just doesnt feel right to do so without Lefteye. They did the right thing by just retiring quietly once she passed. I wouldnt want them to mess up their strong legacy by hooking up with these crappy rappers they have out now and it wouldnt sit well with fans if they had someone replace Lefteye. (Thats never going to happen)

News flash: The internet as a whole is negative especially when you talk

about current events in the news, sports, and entertainment.

Years ago,I suggested that they bring Da Brat into the group as Left Eye's replacement.But now,I don't think a replacement would be accepted by their longtime fans.I hate to say this,but I think TLC (as a group) is over.The two ladies should just do solo records,or at the very least,continue as a duo but change the name to "Chili and T-Boz".Billing it as a TLC project just won't fly,imo.

I guess the group name would change from TLC to TC. But even then, unless they did something different to "wow" me, I still wouldn't be interested.

As you can see i wasn't even trying to be a smart ass. I was being serious

When I saw the inevitible eye roll I was wondering if it was at the statement or the situation with the internet. Was I being too fair in presuming?

This was a song from a few years ago in the mid 2000's when Chilli was going to be a solo artist, it features T-BOZ. I liked it, it had a TLC sound to it.

T-Boz's solo from the 90's and the Rugrats movie which was early 2000's I think...

Also here's Lisa's solo single remember this?

Lisa was a big part of the group, she came up with concepts, visuals... she came up with the whole idea for Fanmail.
