A Fats Domino compilation on 8-track was the first non-children's songs/storybook album that I had. My grandmother's friend gave it to me. It's at my grandmother's house as she still has an 8-track player. Maybe I should buy one, because I have some 8-tracks that are out of print. But they cost too much on Ebay. Many cost way more than when they were new, even counting for inflation. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton | |
