Teddy's Jam 4 Released: Diss Rap to Aaron/Damien and Chauncey

confused How could Teddy do the impossible and make it worse than 3? There isn't even any keyboard solo, just Teddy rappin angry about his personal issues.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JNr79OHQao

lol How is it a girl is singing on Teddy's Jam series now? This shit is as bad as Prince's Push it Up.

Yeah, I definitely don't need to hear it again. But, wow, he let the boys have it!

I'vr been over the drama from the jump, but I actually kinda dug it. lol

And I would never begrudge Teddy for paying tribute to Roger. III isn't 1 or 2, but I'm glad he made it.

This is wack. Shouldn't all these cats be over this mess now. Teddy had to diss
Aaron by bringing up R.Kelly. Really? Those guys are just as responsible for Teddy's success as he is theirs. Nobody is ever going to pay cash to hear Teddy sing anything or hear one of his tired 80's style rap lines. Teddy couldn't do a solo album without guest vocalists or rappers so he needs to shut the hell up too.

I kinda disaree w/ that. Teddy was making hits and doing production for other artists like Kool Mo Dee and Doug E Fresh before Guy. And even outside of Guy (and even Blackstreet), he was making hits for other artists. Teddy would've been the shit on his own...

I know he was hot as a producer of his time and even then he couldn't pull off a solo album without guest appearances. Teddy does not have a voice that could carry a tune for the most part or an album by himself so I stand by what I said. Yes he could produce hits for others or as part of a collective where he wasn't the featured vocalist. The two exceptions that come to mind were Spend The Night and My Fantasy which I loved but most Guy fans were enamored with Aaron's voice not
Teddy's. Let's not get it twisted.

Maybe. But Teddy's vocal chops were never supposed to be his bread and butter. His gift is production, and employing that, he reached a level of wide success across the music industry -- without the likes of Hall, Damien and Chauncey -- that they, in reverse, can't equally claim.

Well i think we've already established his gift was production. I'll say it once more he couldn't even in his prime deliver a solo album on his own with him singing all the vocals.

As for Aaron, he had a modest solo career going but external problems derailed his career

and he became a victim of the times just like Teddy as New Jack expired.

We'll never know because Teddy never tried to do that. You may be right. For what it's worth, I definitely would've bought that hypothetical album.

I'm digging the instrumental.

That lyrics? Not fitting for a 40 plus year old man with kids.

Identity

A funky little number encumbered by ill-advised diss lyrics. Would've worked better as a straight instumental.

I liked the original Teddy's Jams, the III has like a 'Dancefloor' type sound by Zapp. The instrumental to the IV one is OK/good but not sure why he's dissing the Halls and Chauncey really. Wasn't Teddy going to reform both Guy & Blackstreet at one point and do new albums?.

He mentioned that again during the Essence Festival. Sirius XM's Heart and Soul interviewed him and Dave Hollister together. Ted said that 2 new albums were coming. I believe he said the new single will be out in either November or December. The new album would be out next year. I can't remember which project would come first.
