Lewis Taylor or George Michael?

I pick Lewis. Don't get me wrong, I love George too, but I think Lewis has the better range and I think he might be a more tad rnbish than Georgie. Feel free to tell me that I'm wrong, though.

Based purely on name recognition I would pick George Michael since I never heard of Lewis Taylor until today. Listened to snippets of his music on Amazon & going by those I would say George Michaels voice is smoother. Lewis reminds me of Smokey Robinson.

Lewis has a way better voice than Smokey. Not seeing the comparison.

George all the way!

I like LT, but I love George and his lyrics are far better that LT's too IMO.

Lewis Taylor. He was simply an incredible talent, and pretty prolific for a short period of time. GM made some classics, but nothing like "Song" or "When Will I Ever Learn.'"

I underrated GM for a long time, but I'd take Lewis every day.

Can't go wrong either way. His first album is still my favorite one. His later work got just a bit repetitive but still lush and interesting. He has a really cool cover of Jeff Buckley's "Everybody Here Wants You" on a later album.

I actually learned about him in this forum.

Musically and creatively, most definitely LT every time over GM. What instruments does George play? A little piano?

Vocally, it would be George though, as from what I've heard of Lewis, he's good, but the Marvin Gaye influence is rather overwhelming at times. George ain't my fave artist by any means, but I do respect his vocal talent, if not always his material.

...

Lewis, for the musical range, creativity, and instrumental prowess...George has a great voice, but he's much more mainstream Pop/R&B....Lewis was one of those "Push the Envelope" kinda guys.....a wild combination of Pop/Funk/Prog Rock/Jazz/Soul/Electro/and whatever else....
