Jodeci - Forever My Lady I wanna focus on another album spotlight thread. This time its............................................
NOTE: I decided not to put the actual video for "I'm Still Waiting" on here, cause basically, I did not like the remix to it.

I only knew their hits as a kid and decided to check out the album last year! i really dig it and never realized how great these guys sounded. [Edited 7/4/13 11:36am] Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

"U & I...could be one after allllllllllllllllll.......Our love could be so strongggggggg."
The lyrics were so simple, but they made the songs sound soooo amazing. The first hald (the ballads) was the bread and butter. The new jack was always just okay to (except "X's We Share" which I thought was above average/cool.)

That's called "side A," whippersnapper.
Good times, good times...
With 5 singles released, I thought it was criminal that "U&I" didn't make the cut. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

So, which slow jam is everyone's favorite? It's like picking your favorite kid, but, if push came to shove, I'd probably have to go with "I'm Still Waiting." "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Jodeci was never strong in the uptempo dept. 'Get On Up' was their only decent uptempo. Thank You San Alejo for getting rid of my enemies. :-0
Thank You SO much Saint Expedite for your help Thank You Virgin de Guadalupe for helping my friend Thank You Saint Anthony for returning my wallet to me untouched

WHAT?!?! You guys are crazy! Their uptempo stuff was just as great as their slow-tempo stuff ... "Xs We Share", "My Phone", and "Play Thang" are EXCELLENT. Those are some of my favorite tracks of all time.

Yes, exactly what I was going to say!
The debut album was great, but listening to it now, it sounds very 1991/1992....so it's not timeless, however, the vocals on that album were amazing. You couldn't touch K-Ci at all back then. Dude was (and still is) fugly as all get out, but when he sang...lawd, you know why pussy was thrown his way left and right. Even I had a crush on him during my middle school days, and it had nothing to do with his looks, his voice alone could melt butter. Jo-Jo's voice always annoyed me and it still does till this very day. Anyway, though I've always liked the "Forever My Lady" album, I always preferred "Diary of a Mad Band" over it...just for "Cry for You" alone. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I don't have a real problem with the second side of this album — in face, I enjoy most of tracks on some level — but anyone who suggests the uptempo tracks are anywhere close to the level of the slow songs severely underrates those classics. "Stay," "I'm Still Waiting," "Forever My Lady," "U&I," "Come & Talk to Me." C'mon! "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Also, how about a little love for their subsequent soundtrack cuts:
Let's Fly (from "Strictly Business")
Let's Go Through the Motions (from "Who's the Man")
Ah, the days of young Puff... "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Hmm... If I were to rank the ballads on FML, for me it would go:
1. Forever My lady 2. Stay 3. U&I 4. I'm Still Waiting 5. Come & Talk To Me

Ha ha, we're almost completely opposite.
1. I'm Still Waiting 2. Come & Talk to Me 3. U&I 4. Stay 5. Forever My Lady
That was tough! 5 great songs, what a way to start your debut album! "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

"I'm Still Waiting" without a doubt. Not even close. And, I love the other slow jams.
Yeah, side 2 is sort of lacking but I always loved "Xs We Share". [Edited 7/9/13 7:33am]
