Miguel, J. Cole & Kendirck Lamar Concert Review

The concert was pretty exciting and fun minus the fact every set was only 40-50 minutes so not too many songs got performed.

First off Miguel took stage and his voice was very good live and the band was great! He had good energy and luckily didn’t set dive lol

Set List:

Quickie

Don’t Look Back

The Thrill

Do You

Adorn

Next was J. Cole! Can’t lie this dude has grown on me! he was pretty excited to be there and hell nervous as we could tell… but he sounded pretty good and he had a good backing band with a sick bass player!

Set List:
Illuminati

Nobody's Perfect

Sideline Story Lights Please

Who Dat

In The Morning

Work Out

The Cure

Can’t Get Enough

Then finally KENDRICK!!! He had a small set but got damn he KILLED IT!!!!!! His energy was amazing, his flow was great and his freestyle was also killer he did an entire 6 minute freestyle no band and it sounded great.

His band was also great probably the best one there honestly! Great bass player, great sax player and there was even a sax solo during Poetic Justice which I really dug.

Set List:

Good Kid

Backbeat Freestyle

Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe and Mike Epps came on stage and danced lol.

Money Trees with Pete Rock

Real

Compton

Poetic Justice

Swimming Pools

Pic of Kendrick and Pete doing Money Trees

Blurry pic of J. Cole doing Illuminati

Of the two big Rap hip hop albums that came out within the past three weeks - Kanye and J.Cole respectively - , J's is the more accessible and pop of the two. I guess Kanye has enough cred to make the one off oddball album but J holds his own on Born Sinner. He ramps in the style of Lupe Fiasco and Kanye from 05 even though he credits NAS as an influence. Good to see you had a good time at the show, if they ever come through my area I will check them out minus Miguel.

I actually dig Miguel... i know people on the org either love him or hate him.

But imo i enjoyed his voice and he even played a guitar solo during Quickie that i thought was decent! Miguels album also had versatile styles and lyrical matter other than just sex sex sex and hey he is trying to bring guitar back in r&b mainstrem so i dig that lol plus his backin band rocked!

Cole had an amazing guitar player though that amped the show! his album does have some misses but overall it is good... not the amazing album his fans made it out to be but i will say i am slowly becoming a fan.

Kendrick his album is amazing, performance was the best, amazing writer as well. Kendrick is one of my favorite modern artists hands down cool
