Summer Breeze - Seals & Crofts vs The Isley Bros IT's HOT OUT HERE Y'All!! SUMMERTIME!
Both groups put their STAMP on this tune! Both are great versions, but entirely different vibes. The Isley Bros' version is so iconic, some folks in the R&B community never realized it was a cover.
I like them both...depends on my mood and mix for the night.

I grew up listening to CBS-FM so I'm more familiar with the Seals & Croft version. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

Even though I grew up during that era I actually heard the Isleys version first but I love both. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

I think both versions are equally great. The Isley Brothers in the 70s can do no wrong musically. I think they also did a great cover of Todd Rundregn song 'Hello..It's Me'.(I think I have the song title wrong)

Both versions are great, but I'll take the Isleys' version as the better one. For my money, the Isley Brothers give Aretha a run for the best covers act of all time. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Seals & Crofts version, for me by a mile... "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

Both versions are beautiful. Can't choose which one I like best.

While I like both versions, I would give the edge to The Isley Bros because of Ernie's mesmerizing guitar in the beginning. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
"It's just my imagination, once again running away with me."
