Incredible song! The lyrics are profound and the vibe of the song gets me every time I hear it.

Say what you want about Elton, but this man has done some amazing music over the years.

Even though his vocals are a lot weaker than they were, I got to agree with this.

It always amazes me how in touch that Bernie and Elton were with each other. To me they are the greatest writing TEAM ever, yes over Lennon and McCartney because John and Paul almost never wrote together, alot that was credited to them as a team wasnt. Bernie and Elton and how they work has always been beyond what every other team does, Elton never writes lyrics, Bernie never writes music, Bernie to me rarely gets his due in the music world as being possibly the best writers over the last 40 years.

This song was written about Elton but also Bernie, they were both coming through a time when they were starting to come back down to earth. What Elton did in those early 70's in terms of touring, albums, charts, to me has never been matched. The BLUE MOVES album was them mellowing out, knwoing that the "honeymoon" period was over in terms of the charts etc.... As Elton said "no one stays at that level of success and the public wanting you" some have a year or two some have 5 etc...but to me its more about the output and quality of it that they have done.
