Benjamin Biolay

I discovered this guy a couple of days ago thank to the new Vanessa Paradis album and here are some of my favourite songs of his that I have discovered so far.

Actually, you're right. His voice does sound like him. Not sure of the music cause I only know his duet with Kylie Minogue, which is that kinda style. lol Benjamin's much hotter though. lol

Well, his voice may be similar to Cave's, but I think he's a much more versatile musician (I'm not an expert on Cave, so I might be wrong). He's great at electro-pop, folk, hip-hop, funk... He's been called "the new Gainsbourg" since he published his first album back in 2001.

Although he sings in French, you UK and US orgers should make an effort! This is a very talented musician. MOJO has reviewed his last album, Vengeance, in the June issue, giving it 4 stars out of 5.

Also the visual aspect of his videos quite remind me oh Nick Cave, but other than that, he is quite good. None of them has a style that appeals to me though, but I respect it!

javi, I guess not. lol But it's their loss. lol

What's your favourite style Replica? Well, his music also does not seem to be my style completely, but it totally grew on me and I have been listening to the songs that I have posted non-stop for the last couple of days. I am sick of this "artificial" era and his music and videos are pleasantly emotional and "human", if you know what I mean. For example the first video includes these love-making images, but not in this cheap way that other artists are doing it. It has a touch of humanity and deep feelings which I really like about him. Even though I speak no French and therefore know nothing about him, his music tells me, he's gotta be a deep guy.

Towa Tei did a great remix of Les Cerfs Volants. I love the accordian efx and the filtered layered vocal. I listen to this quite often as I feel it is simply beautiful.

The YouTube link had some copyright nonsense. Nice one dropping something different here on the org.

I have discovered more great Benjamin songs. This one's so weird, cool and funky.

This is also interesting music. Enigma, jazz, funk altogether.
