Composer and Instrumentalist Gary Taylor has written hits for a number of artists , including The Whispers ("Just Gets Better With Time"), Anita Baker ("Good Love"), Vesta Williams and Lalah Hathaway ("I'm Coming Back"), among others. But I've always loved his solo stuff, too...always seemed built for the later, darker side of the "Quiet Storm"...just before a.m....

So underrated. I like his style, too bad he didn't take off. Rumour has he was quite difficult to work with...huge ego. I'm sure he has the talent to back up his demands...and good for him for not giving in, if the industry was trying to take full advantage. Nonetheless a great talent.

He had one Album on A&M and one for Virgin.......
The rest is do it yourself......Interesting indeed!

I remember that he released a single version of his "Just Gets Better With Time", on A&M in 1986...it was supposed to be the lead single, for an album of the same name...but it never materialized...next thing I know, The Whispers and Alfie Silas have versions of the song, and Gary ends up on Virgin, with a completely new album...and you're right, after that he started putting out his own stuff....
