Jaheim Is Back with "Age Ain't A Factor"

It's been a minute since we've heard from Jaheim (we loved his 2010 album Another Round, but not the silence that followed). Well, Mr. Ghetto Classic has signed with Atlantic Records and is getting ready to release his first album in three years. And he's just issued the first single, the midtempo "Age Ain't A Factor," a big, modern production with that unmistakeable voice out front. It is our newest First Listen.

You know his Album is gonna be good. I love the single he did with Ledisi. Out of all the Soulful Voices on the scene Jaheim STILL has the BEST voice. That's my opinion and I'm sure everybody in the World has their Favorite voices among this Generations R&B singers....Jaheim's Live singing is proof he's no joke..

I know. One of the things I love about him is his career is based solely on his voice. No props, no dancing, no branding, no scandals. He just has an incredible voice and that's the only thing he uses to sell records.

I wonder who's Managing Jaheim? You can tell his Label does whatever to reach out to other Vocalists for CD appearances but I'm just shocked that his Representatives arent doing a Good job making him VISIBLE. He's still Young and need to be doing EVERYTHING under the Sun. I mean Damn he should be doing a Reality show by now, everybody else got one...I wonder if he's a Lazy Entertainer or is his Management to blame?

Jaheim has actually done well despite the lack of promotion on Pop radio and even R&B radio. I believe all of his albums were certified Gold except for the last one, I think. Alot of people who listen to R&B music don't even know who he is but the one's who do know are very loyal to him.

Its really sad. I would rank him as one of the Top 10 best R&B singers of his generation no doubt and he has really good songs. I dont know why he has such poor promotion. Not to mention, he is finee

Now, that is an under-statement. biggrin

I heard "Age Ain't A Factor" on the radio here the other day & was wondering why I haven't heard this Luther Vandross song before. Then the dj said it was Jahiem biggrin . They both have the same vocal tone! Not surprising since Luther was his idol..

Glad he Jahiem is back with the real singing. Besides Maxwell & Anthony Hamilton. No male really sings anymore in rnb..

Not just the number of Units he pushes but the entire package. TV appearances, Tour/Club Dates, Private Bookings, Stage Plays, Movies. There's a lot of showbizness out there. Since his last Album didnt Go Gold there needs to be a push for him @ local radio Markets across the Country. His Management team should team up with radio and have Jaheim doing CD signings or something...Jaheim is worth Promoting but it appears his representatives play Low key where he's concerned.

Jaheim Update...I Just pulled some information and the Brotha is attending a University. Good for him, so maybe his Priorities with Education ranks higher than Showbizness....

Jaheim called into the Steve Harvey Morning show Monday morning. He's performing @ the Hoody's this year and sharing the Bill with Fantasia and The Queen Of Funk Ms. Chaka Khan. He told Steve he had a situation with Police Brutality & got sprayed with Mace. He couldn't sing for a year. He says the NEW Album should drop in September. They played the new single and I like it.

I know right...Steve goes all out for The annual Hoodie Awards..The chances of seeing Chaka, Fanny & Jaheim in the same night again is slim to none...

Jaheim was a Guest host on the Steve Harvey Morning show yesterday morning. Do you guys remember how the Legendary Mr. Berry Gordy made ALL of his Recording Artists attend "Grooming School"? I think the Entertainment industry including SAG should bring back or create Grooming schools for Entertainers.

Listening to Jaheim on the radio he didn't come across as being ready for Primetime. He needs to take Acting lessons so he can project himself better. Personality plays a MAJOR role in how far you go Famous or NOT. He needs a BOOST or a pep-talk.

I 100% agree. There are lots of artists, both past and present, who would have benefitted from lessons in etiquette and how to speak properly and conduct themselves during an interview. But, the thing is, I don't think most labels are going to invest in an artist like that anymore because they figure the young kids buying the music really don't care whether a singer's speech or conduct is appropriate or not. They only care about the beat and the trendiness.

Beyonce has made it normal to say the word "ya'll" during speeches and interviews. It's obvious she definately didn't have any etiquette lessons. lol Same with Mary J. Although she has improved from her early days, she could use some grooming also. I've heard rappers sound more educated and proper than those girls do.
