And I recall him yelling out "who wrote that?" between several lines of the song.

Why is he an asswipe? He knows it's Janet.Jimmy and Terry who wrote the song. He was just yelling that for fun as in this is the kind of song I could've written. On audio file I think he actually says "Did I write that??" lol It's Prince's way of complimenting the song lol

Anyways He's been playing that song to death as recently as W2A shows. Im sure Janet is honored but personally I'd like to see him dance to All 4 U or Feedback instead.

I didn't call him that, alpha did. And like I said in my last reply, I'd thought that was what he was getting at when I'd heard him say it, but that's been debated before. Several interpretations, including yours, are reasonable.

I am sure Prince liked Janet, the song above was played on his 1990 "the Nude Tour", remember..?

It was just a joke. Prince always compliments and disses everyone at the same time eg. Calling Sheila e. 'not bad for a girl' and stuff like that

And that's a reasonable explanation. Control is basically a Prince album anyway.

I truly believe that the whole Prince vs Michael was moreso media/fan driven. I'm sure that there was a mutual respect, but neither was threatened by the other. So, a healthy competition is what it was.

Well it didn't turn out too healthy for MJ - he wanted to surpass the record Prince set for playing in London and look where that got him. MJ was obsessed with setting world records & Prince set a record that he wanted to beat. Foolish and in the end deadly.

smdh .. You know what... just stop with the crap. You're saying MJ could not have done 21 concerts??? Because that's what it would have taken to break Prince's record. As it turned out 50 concerts sold out in a few hours which would have happened regardless. Promoters said they could have sold out 100. That's just how it was with MJ. MJ passed on because of a doctor's negligence.

Re. Prince and the Jacksons (MJ specifically) I do believe he and MJ were indeed friends. The rivalry was definitely media driven imo.

CynicKill

Rolling Stone did publish an article that came out simultaneously with MJ's death questioning if Michael would be able to survive the touring schedule.

I pray that one day we will get the whole story about Prince his relationship with The Jackson's. I think they were HUGE fans of each other and sharing a healthy competition. I know MJ was a big fan and I love MJ even more for sharing that.

Here's a snapshot of Prince giving MJ a standing ovation after his Grammy Performance in 1988.

Just copy and paste G3000´s last sentence into Google images and you´ll find it.

She only looked 'cute' because of the nose job.

That's hot! And Bobby heard LaToya's "Night Time Lover", then wrote "You And I" for Switch. You know, I was listening to the radio the other day And I heard the words that you said that I'm your night time lover And here's something I wrote especially for you and me heart

Wow! *SWOON* Thanks Lady Zsa Zsa! hug

That's such a pretty song, Bobby's falsetto was just heavenly cloud9

Latoya was gorgeous, I can see why Prince had a crush on her.
