Old yes...I love this group{a lot of people think Sade is referring to the lead singer's name but actually Sade is the name of the group}. May I add that lead singerHelen Folasade Adu is all of that and bag of chips...("crunch..crunch")...LAWD HAVE MERCY!!!

Promise-Mr. Wrong...Had a hard time choosing one off of this album just like I did with their debut record. But I think this song is one of their greatest achievements, as Adu warns her girlfriend about a man that is pure bad news. Nice riff from bassist Paul Denman.

Love Deluxe-Feel No Pain...Oh my goodness Paul Denman lays down yet another mean riff on this grooving track, as Helen lays down her sultry vocals which finesse.

Lovers' Rock-Someone Already Broke My Heart


Favorite Sade B-Side-Love Affair With Life...Another one of Sade's greatest achievements. This was the B-side to Sade's hit single "Your Love Is King". This song has such a lovely melody and boast a strong jazzy backdrop. Adu sounds great on this laid back mellow number as she tells the one that is trying to use her..."you can't play me...I'm not a melody". Superb Superb B-side offering from Sade!!!

I never get tired of her music. It's hard to pick just one for most of them, and it also depends on what I am feeling or needing to hear at the moment.

*BUMP* to ask a question: is Lover's Live worth having? I'm a Sade fan (have all her albums, etc). I've never seen her live but I enjoyed the live special on PBS a few years back. For some reason I haven't been moved to buy this one - should I??

This is actually an instrumental track called "Snake Bite." I have the import 12" of Smooth Operator which segues into Snake Bite. I also have the import cassette of "Diamond Life"- from the UK- which also has this song. The cassette quality is POOR now, so I'm going to either buy the cd the next time I'm in the UK,
or I may break down & buy it from cdnow.com.

Further, the UK version of Diamond Life-
unlike the US version of the album-
closes with "Love Affair With Life"..
another lesser known but still beautiful jewel..

I LOVE Sade and cannot pick favourites. "Pearls" totally shreds me especially with the state of world hunger among children. There is a site I buy misic from that is awesome ~ the shipping is a bit higher but not at all outrageouse and they have a remarkable catalogue. Located in Britain so they have a lot of obscure stuff ~ tons of Bjork, Madonna, Cure, David Bowie, Prince etc. They may have some of the sade htf stuff. Site is www.eil.com.
