This summer will mark the return of one of the biggest-selling artists of all time. Mariah Carey has announced a release date for her new album.

The pop diva’s first album in four years is due July 23. “The New Era Begins.. 7/23 #MC723,” tweeted Mimi.

The follow-up to 2009’s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel has already spawned the Miguel-assisted single “#Beautiful,” which is currently No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.

She has been in the studio with hitmakers including Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox, Big Jim Wright, Hit-Boy, The-Dream, Mike WiLL Made It, and Rodney Jerkins.

She has yet to settle on a title. “trying to decide between two or three right now,” she told a fan online.

It's called "The New Era Begins?" I hope the label changes her mind and comes up with something a little more "exciting" than THAT! :-O

No that was just her promo tagline and the titled was revealed later "The Art of Letting Go"

I LOVE IT!!! That's better than the run of generic titles she's known for such as "Emotions," "Daydream," "Butterfly," "Glitter" or "Charmbracelet!" LOL! For a second, I thought she was call it "Beautiful." Thank God for small things, huh?

Horse puckey!!! I don't buy that excuse at all. , but I figured the album was going to be delayed. Think they need to come up with a stronger single before they release the CD.

She actually had 2 singles that already came out? I do remember something she tried to do with Miguel. Oh well back to the drawing board Mariah.

It was only last week she was photographed in a studio with Young Jeezy. Perhaps she requires more time to replace ballads for uptempo dance music (featuring guest rappers, of course).

So far she has released two singles: "Triumphant" with Rick Ross and Meek Mill,and the new song "Beautiful" with Miguel.Neither song became a big hit.I guess she will now say that those songs were just the "buzz singles" and that the "real" first single is on the way,lol.

Her camp said it was number one in 30 different countries (or something like that) but that has proven to be false.The song isn't a total bomb,but it's not the massive hit that she was expecting it to be.

I don't think she should spaze out too much over the lack of interest in the singles so far. Even if she is tweaking the album and it turns out to be her greatest ever (which would be nearly impossible to top "Emotions"), she simply is not ever going to have anywhere near the same success and sales she experienced in the past because now she is over 40. If the album manages a 1x platinum certification here in the U.S., that will be the best she can hope for. She's not 25 anymore. Do you know how many veteran R&B artists would kill for a 1x Platinum certification or even a Gold certification?

So her aging is a viable excuse to use just in case the album really sucks? Nah, she's not getting off the hook that easily; most artists produce their best work late in their careers.
