DigitalLisa, I didn't start this thread because I was sure someone else had a long time ago! My favorite Cameo songs are:

I Just Want To Be
Attack Me With Your Love
Candy
Back and Forth
Use It Or Lose It
Freaky Dancin'
Keep It Hot

You Know it, Handclaps!!!

My favorite was "Sparkle"! I also dug the very funky "I Just Want to Be, "Back & Forth" & "Don't Be So Cool," and the smooth "Hangin Downtown"!

Damn, you've stirred up some memories here! Now I gotta go dig out all all my Cameo vinyl!!

"It's Serious" is the serious joint! I wouldn't buy the comp if this cut wasn't on it.

I saw cameo back in the 80s at Radio City Music Hall. I bought a t-shirt (it still fits too!) On the front is a pic of a very downsized Cameo: Tommy, Nathan, and Larry. Larry's got the high-top fade, and he's wearing the infamous red cod piece. biggrin

oooh, almost forgot:

"rigor mortis" 12-inch = drool

ryder: "sparkle" & "hangin' downtown" are the cuts, indeed! biggrin

Hanging Downtown - this is a highly underrated slow jam. I could put this track on repeat and let it go all day long.

Don't know how many will remember this song, but it's the last track on the Knights of the soundtable album called "I Like It" That is one the the funkiest jams I have heard even to this day. To me the groove is along the line of "flirt" (one of my other favs) but a little more uptempo. Damn I miss the REAL cameo.

Cameo.
Definitely 1 of the funkiest bands ever.

Cameo top shelf:

Keep it hot
I just want to be
Cameosis
Shake your pants
Flirt
Just be yourself
Single life
Candy
Alligator woman (very "punk".. for a "funk band", anyway!)

going a little smoother:

We're going out tonight
Why have I lost you (ORIGINAL version)
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

Whenever Cameo is discussed on this site and other sites,I notice that nobody EVER mentions their 1983 single "Style" and the album of the same name. That has got to be the most underrated Cameo album! Do you guys remember that one?

We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color.
