Bruno Mars' mother Bernadette Hernandez is said to have died of a brain aneurysm.

The mother-of-six, 55, died on Saturday, a publicist for the singer's label Atlantic Records told Associated Press on the condition of anonymity.

Mrs Hernandez's death came after it was initially reported she had suffered a suspected heart attack in Hawaii on Friday and was being treated at the Queens Medical Center in Honolulu.

its sad yes indeed but why is this news??? people mothers die all the time and get no attention and he is no different she wasnt a celebrity or nothing so i dont think we should carry on about stuff like this . so many real issues 2 mourn in this world

Nah i gotta agree on that, the public has way too much access to the lives of people in the spotlight, plain and simple twist any way you want, with a culture that is concerned so much about invasion of privacy, being tapped, being followed, being viewed on the internet, we all sure wanna know whats going on in everyone elses life. YES this is tragic, but its not news, let the man have greif on his fucking own, lets not turn this into an Oprah episode, etc... It wasnt news when Prince's mom died and he didnt go to the funeral was it? because it shouldnt have been.

Wow when I first heard she was sick, I'd sent up a prayer for her. Sorry to hear this news. May God comfort Bruno and his family during this difficult time.

Good choice! I wouldnt pay them no mind either because I would like to see the same outrage over the gossip and irrelevant threads made here DAILY. It always amazes me what people choose to complain about here especially when there are more things that people should be complaining about.... but dont. If that Wade Robson thread could stay open for a month and the million of non music related threads can be open (and nobody says nothing) why cant this one?

Poor woman. May God help Bruno and his family through this horrible time.

It wasn't an heart attack, but an anuresm. What struck me when I heard this was, she was only ten years older them me. It's in the news because he Bruno himself is in the spotlight and what goes on in that spotlight is considered news worthy. Bruno, is fully aware of this fact. For if he wasn't, he would not have signed the "permission slip". For those of you who disagree on whether it is news, have the choice of not watching or listening to it.... May she rest in peace....

My Prayers go out to the Family...I know they are devastated. They didnt expect to lose their Mother like that. God be with that Family.

Very sad news. 55 is so young.

I had an uncle that passed away from an aneurysm at 51. He woke with a severe headache and dropped dead a couple of hours later. It was devastating for the family.

I hope Bruno remembers all the good times and love he shared with his mother.
