Up until last week, Miguel considered himself a person of mixed-race heritage. Today he's full Black now that it's convenient for him to generalize an entire racial group. Punk ass Prince wannabe.

Being a "Judge of character" is not the worst trait to have. Miguel's probably rolling with a bunch of "yes" men, now.

That jump he did at the awards show might be one of the smartest career moves he's made so far. You never even heard of him before that and now you're inetrested in checking out his music. Way to go Miguel!! biggrin

Don't worry he'll probably be done by next year anyway. Seriously, I don't like this guys cocky vibe. I think he's feeling himself a bit too much. It's partly because people compare him to Prince, which I think is absurd. When he starts writing, producing, singing and playing 27 instruments on his own albums as well as others, then maybe we can talk. Until then, please.

Do you guys think maybe he got carried away in his performance at the billboard awards because Prince was there??

I say anyone who hasn't heard of Miguel by now just hasn't been paying attention.

Then again you can't win for losing. If you've never heard of him then of course he's not worth discussing. If you've heard of him but are unfamiliar with his music then he's obviously over-hyped.

I love the internet age!

If someone compared you to Prince, you would roll with it too, but in your head you'd be like "lurking damn, I know he plays 27 instruments"

Another money post.

If he thinks other races aren't judgmental he is stupider than i thought he was

when he jumped into the crowd and kicked the shit out of an innocent bystander.

Great post!

This entire generation of singers are very cocky. Overrated, over hyped and cocky and dont have not one ounce of skill, catalogue or talent to back it up.

Poor Miguel is having a rough month. When will these artist learn to stay off twitter like Prince & shut their mouths up...Twitter is the devil...

I agree. I miss the days of there being a little mystery and distance left between musician and audience. The internet makes people feel like they have to share every damn thing that comes to their minds, when a lot of shit is still better left unsaid. We get too intimately involved with artists these days, when I'd rather just hear more "art"

Well to Mr. Miguel you are because no black person can have no criticism of their kind because thats being too judgmental lol Thats one of black peoples problems we dont speak out when it really matters for things that can really make a difference.

Not to mention he doesnt even consider himself black. Black celebrities kill me with there sometimey ness. They only want to be black when its beneficial but are the first ones to say what is so wrong about the black community and black people.

Can someone give me some examples when it has benefited a celebrity, or any one for that matter, to be black??? This reminds me of when Chris Rock said he is a multi-millionaire but there ain't a single white man who would want to trade places with him because anyone who ain't black have no desire to be. lol lol lol

True! Even though I'm guilty of using twitter myself. It does take away the mystery of interacting with entertainers through fanmail. I remember the days when I almost went into cardiac arrest going to pick up my mail. Then getting a response from prince each time I wrote him. Prince still keeps his mystic by not participating in social media if only to distribute his everlasting "Masterpieces".

What ever anyone may say about Miguel, he got people talking about him. Look at this thread!

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

@ kitbradley All black celebrities are not ignorant....but unfornately there is a good handful that are and are confused about their ethnicity. The media has brainwashed black people into believing blackness is not attractive or is bad so they ignorantly dismiss their blackness for whatever reason. I just think its hyprocritical how they turn around and want to call out black people or say they want to be the first black such and such (when it comes down to getting awards) when they dont even identify with being black.

People are talking about Miguels comments because it was a thread that was created on this discussion board. Keyword DISCUSSION.

Miguel needs to mature some. I'm a fan of some of his songs but he's going through this "too cool" act now that needs to stop. A lot of the performers do this though. People don't realize these celebs are mostly insecure types who go crazy when anyone criticizes them. Apparently some of his very religious fans didn't like a shirt he had on and said he was devil worshipping or some BS like that lol It was an ugly ass shirt, but the whole religious judgement on it was too much.

It makes me wonder what things would have been like 20, 30 years ago if twitter was around lol Some of the stars who are now considered "icons" would have been just as messy back then as Miguel is today on that socia media site.

Y'all bring up a good point about cockiness with modern singers right now.

Call me crazy but i think the internet has made a lot of singers cocky as hell... you got fans arguing on twitter and dozens of fan sites about how your shit don't stink and other peoples favorites could never be as good as you etc.

Or you got fans calling themselves your NAVY or Army or tidal wave or some shit lol

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

From what I read on another site, all of this came about because Miguel was wearing a sweater with a devil hand symbol on it or something...basically when you wear shit that will attract attention then that's what you are going to get. All of this was just a publicity stunt in my eyes folks. He basically just wants folks to have his name in his mouth.
