Yeah, she is for sure (vocally...anyway).

Ariana Grande is the next big pop star IMO. She already has a fanbase from her nickelodeon show, and she can sing. "The Way" debuted at #10 last week just on downloads alone so I expect it go higher with radio play in the coming weeks. She's a big fan of Mariah and does a nice imitation here. If Christina Aguilera had any hope of having a comeback album (instead of just being featured on other people's hit singles) that's over now

Pretty much. And interestingly enough, she played second fiddle to Victoria Justice on the tween-oriented TV show Victorious, which was supposed to be a musical showcase for Ms. Justice. That show was just recently cancelled by Nickelodeon, but she is staring in a spin-off series called Sam and Cat where she reprises her role from Victorious while her new co-star reprises her role from iCarly.

I can name a few Mariah wannabes/clones that came BEFORE Ariana Grande.

1. Jessica Simpson

2. Katherine McPhee

3. Leona Lewis (who is THE most successful wannabe up to this point)

Ariana Grande is a naturally gifted singer. Her so-called Mariah impersonation is more gratifying than the real thing, especially with regard to the single "Beautiful" w/ Miguel.

this was a pretty good debut performance yesterday Ignore that clown rapper Ariana even does that hand thing Mariah is known for I really think this girl is going to be the new it-girl in pop and I'm fine with that as she can actually sing.
