Interview: Foster Sylvers
This interview took place a year ago and after the Sylvers', Unsung episode. It pretty interesting because Foster gives more insight into how they were ripped off, who got the money, why they failed to take the next step to becoming successful, and how the band came to the decision to walk away. He also speaks candidly about his personal trials and tribulations. Note: Mr. King really shucked & jived through this interview way too much but if you can get past the silliness... what Foster had some pretty interesting things to say. Link under 2nd picture.

I was listening to this a while ago after I saw this post, cause Im a huge Sylvers/Leon Sylvers fan, and geez, Jay King is an awful broadcaster, and interviewer. Is it normal to get exhausted listening to an interview online? I guess he's trying, and even though Foster Sylvers did say some things that were rather revealing an informative, he was incorrect on some things, for instance when Jay King asked him when "Hotline" came out, Foster answered, "hmm, 79, 78..." WHAT? They were on Casablanca by then, and not charting at all. "Hotline" was 1976. Jay King was going down the Marvin Gaye roster and said "What's Goin' On" came out in '70, and "Trouble Man" came out in '71. INCORRECT.
However, it was great to hear Foster's voice, and hear him speak on the family history. I'm still gonna muddle through the Ohio Players, reluctantly. Katie Kinisky: "So What Are The Latest Dances, Nell?"

Agreed hence the warning...
Yeah, Foster dates on what was released were not accurate; I'm going to chalk that up to having a senior moment. Its not uncommon for artist to not know or forget what they recorded or when it was released, fans have to keep them straight.

That's very true about artists tending to forget certain things about their career.
I'd like to hear this stuff on Sirius XM, as this would be great to listen to on the road.
Yes Jay needs to be a little more professional, just a tad, 'cause Im not beating up on him. He does seem to like to focus on talking about "the business/what happened to the money" aspect. Katie Kinisky: "So What Are The Latest Dances, Nell?"
