TheSmiths fans...? Couple of mates took me to see The Smyths in London last year (a great tribute band!) and now I'm hooked...not sure what took me so long!
"There's A Light That Never Goes Out" is now one of my all time faves.
Been looking into the band. I like Morrissey's conviction in the way he did things, much of what he stood up for, genius lyrics obviously...but from interviews with him and his band mates I've seen he did come across as a bit of a twat. Is this the case? What do other fans think?
And did The Smiths make much of an impact in the States? Or did the English, its-grim-up-north vibe pass America by? [Edited 5/18/13 8:08am] www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

Moz loves being a twat. There is only one other artist that is a bigger twat than Moz. [Edited 5/18/13 14:04pm] The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

yeah, the smiths stuff is brilliant, but moz is a complete and utter twat. my mate is a huge fan but fucking sick of moz as he's such a fucking knob. he once went onstage with his band wearing t shirts basically saying the guy who ran the smiths equivilent of the org was a cunt as folk on his site were moaning about his shit a few years ago

I could never see it. I had a couple of mates that got as into The Smiths as I was into P. They loved it. Some interesting writing but it just sounds so shit to me. That fucking 'voice' of his. And I agree, the bloke's an utter twat.

Morrissey/Marr were an amazing songwriting partnership. I think Moz is mostly very very funny and yes he can be a bastard.
