George Benson - Give Me The Night LP - 1980

What a Nasty Album-

Rod Temperton & Quincy Jones were Unstoppable at this time...

It's one of my favorite George Benson albums."Love X Love","Star Of A Story","Moody's Mood" and the title track are the highlights music How I miss the days when artists would go into the studio with one producer and come out with a masterpiece. In those days, everything Quincy Jones touched turned into gold.

Skipless abum and loved seeing the rollerskating video then thumbs up! although I've heard that song a lil' too often on a specific jazz broadcast. Would be cool if that station rotated other album tracķs.

^^ I agree.....there's something really haunting and moody about the Heatwave version.

Hopefully, BBR has this on their list for their Warner Brothers reissue. There's an alternate or extended version of "Give Me the Night" where the music breaks closer to the end of the song and you just hear the chorus. I don't think that's ever been available on CD.

I'd love a remaster of this CD.

I've long considered this the perfect "night time" album... Quincy and Rod were at the height of their powers here.

Here's a cool behind the scenes look at the making of Give Me The Night.

If you listen closley, you'll hear elements of "Sign Of The Times" by Bob James, also written by Rod Temperton,
