Flipper, Fudge Tunnel, The Melvins and Therapy ?

Flipper were a San Francisco punk band that released their first album in 1982. They were one of the first grungy sounding punk bands and Nirvana sited them as an influence.

The lead singer(Will Shatter) died in 1987 of a drug overdose.

First The Heart. Gone Fishing(1984)

Fudge Tunnel were a somewhat influential British sludge, grunge, alt metal band.

After releasing 3 albums the lead singer/guitarist left the band and started Nailbomb(with Max Calavera)and produced songs by bands such as At The Drive In, The Mars Volta, and Bloc Party.

Rudge with a G. Complicated Futility of Ignorance(1994)

Therapy? are a pretty interesting sounding alternative rock band that was formed in Northern Ireland. They released their first album in 1991 and had some decent success in the early, mid 1990's. They've released some pretty cool albums in the 2000's as well.

Nowhere. Troublegum(1994)
