Hi, I recently became a fan of Danzig. Whilst I like their early bluesy rock, the later period metal stuff intrigued me. There's a certain sound from their later period I really like and I'm hoping someone can reccommend so other stuff that expands on that sound. I'll give some examples of what I mean.
Black Mass - The chorus in this song, the verses sound like pretty standard metal but the chorus is very dark, it evokes images of doom etc.

I'm familar with Black Sabbath but I know there is SO MUCH metal out and I figured there has to be I've never heard of that I would really dig. Something that really invokes the dark side of the soul. If there's anything purely instrumental in this sort of mood that would be even better!

My suggestions would be to check out some websites that review metal albums then check YouTube for that particular band. Also the All Music Guide website is good because it usually has snippets of the bands that they review or have info on. That's how i usually find out if i like something or not.

Not all of these bands are black or doom metal but this stuff should lead you in the right direction.
