How long did Lisa Fischer sing for Luther? And also, who has she sung back up for other than the Rolling Stones? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries." | |

She started out as a background singer for Chaka from 1984 thru 1985. She was on the entire "I Feel For You" tour. Chaka was plagued with vocal problems during most of the tour and Lisa really stepped up to hit those notes Chaka would normally hit. She then started singing for Luther after the Chaka tour and, if I'm not mistaken, I believe she toured with him right up to the very end. She also toured with Tina as a background vocalist. That chick is BAD!!!

Can't help with her chronology, but...

Well, he got along with her. But, I doubt very seriously if he got it on with her. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

Kit, from what I've been reading, Lisa started before 84 singing backgrounds. She had a freestyle song that was an underground hit. It was under the name Xena.
She started recording with Luther during his "The Night I Fell In Love" project.
She is featured in a documentary Twenty Feet from Stardom, that's opening in theaters around the country soon. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Oh yeah. I knew about the Xena song "The Upside". I used to hear it on the radio when it was out. I really dug that song but never knew who it was. I took me YEARS to get a hold of it and I was surprised to find out it was Lisa. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley
