Tamar's second single "The One" was released today. It follows the many songs before it that have sampled Mtume's "Juicy Fruit" I like this track-it's easy listening and goes well with spring/summer.

Why not just remake Juicy Fruit in it's entirety?

This young lady is a joke. Ms. Braxton (Tamar) should continue doing what she does better than singing, making a fool out of herself on her sister's reality show.

I discovered my daughter was watching this show (The Braxton's) on the DL.

This is how low commercial music has gone, you release a song by some whack "singer" because she's on TV.

^Tamar's personality is annoying on that show, I agree, but you don't think she can sing? She's got a good voice IMO.

I don't think Tamar doesn't sings well enough to have any record company release a single, let alone an album. I put her in the category of the church member who would never be picked to sing a solo. She can sing in tune and she's good enough to be apart of a harmony ensemble but at the mike singing solo? Hell, no! If it wasn't for her sister, that reality show, and her man, the "casting couch" couldn't have helped this chick get commercial access. She's a back up singer at best and could be replaced doing that without anyone noticing.

I am happy that James Mtume is still able to make money off this song but considering it has been sampled roughly 30 times perhaps it is time to say enough already. Did they not even notice Keyshia Cole used it pretty recently ? Good Lord. It just seems lazy to me to use this as the second single.

Seems to me that Toni is no longer enchanted by the industry. She's tired and she's most likely seeing all the b.s. which plagues it. Tamar? She's nobody and in a couple of years, she'll be a "who?" Anxiously awaiting that. If this is the current state of R&B, the artform is in BIG trouble. It's only gettin worse. And like SoulAlive said in a previous thread, "We have to stop buying the crap." The only CD's I every buy these days are the Funkytowngrooves, BBR, Soulmusic Reccords and Expanision reissues. The crap today that poses as R&B, I refuse to even subscribe to, Tamar Braxton included. There's a reason why she's been in the shadows for so long. Decent voice (though there are FAR BETTER,) but an appalling, egotistical presence.

On The Braxtons CD that came out in 1996 her voice was pretty good. She did a lot of leads on there.

SERIOUSLY. How many facking times does this one need to be done? Keyshia's version was a jam but this one just feels cheap and gimmicky.

Without a doubt the label whitewashed her photo for the single cover. But why? Hoping to invite controversy? The music is equally horrid.

Too many theatrics from Ms. Tamar. I did watch a bit of their show, and she was cutting up singing at a pet funeral last night. She broke out in song, catching the spirit at the dog funeral. Just doing way too much.

She looks so different in that old photo. Didn't realize she'd had so much plastic surgery. She was pretty before.. wonder why she felt the need to go under the knife? I hope she quits while she is ahead though.

I love her new single. It's very catchy. Her voice is a lot better than I thought it would be.

We know Tamar has had a nose job but we haven't found out what else yet. She also claims to have vitiligo too. I agree with you-hopefully she won't end up like Lil' Kim
