Metallica performs National Anthem in SF Giant park



James and kirk are getting rave reviews for their national anthem rendition.

I agree.
Its ok but its no Jimi Hendrix woodstock SSB.

I'm a Metallica fan but i gotta say that i think kirk Hammett is way overrated as a guitar player. Its not that he doesn't have any skills it just seems like he doesn't have any emotion or feeling behind his playing. I thought the solos on Kill Em All and the Black Album were good but after that the solos on Metallica Songs seem to be just, there.




Kirk took lessons from Joe Satriani so i would think that his playing would be more expressive than what it is.




Anyway this is all just an opinion and it really doesn't mean shit.

OOps, Kirk fucked up toward the end!

Of course it was not Jimi at Woodstock, that shit was a statement, this was the opening of a baseball game. I thought they did fine, though I disagreed with a couple of James' harmonic choices.

But considering the fact that they're one of the greatest rock bands ever, it's a little strange that it could have just as easily been Nigel Tufnel and David St Hubbins playing that.
