Don't feel bad. I missed it too. Apparently, it wasn't released commercially as a single and the music video received limited airplay because is was deemed too risqué.

Aye, lovely tune. Always thought it was the most obvious single on the album.

Some more late career gems that most of the US missed thanks to near total blackout at radio.

American DJ's and radio people have never been too keen on the Bee Gees i think you can say that would go all the way back to the later 60's when they came out and STIG released their first song to radio as a white label promo and some thought it was the Beatles, so i feel they felt they were duped into the Bee Gees, when clearly, to me at least they are possibly in the Top 5 artists ever, and Gibb as writers, pretty much the best if you wanted a hit, and good songs too. But they were clearly blacklisted after Fever, i mean RADIO sponsored blowing up disco records in a stadium, which now would be an act of terrorism, then it was a tuesday night at the ball game. Then later into the 80's prior to Andy's death, they had some huge UK and worldwide hits with "You Win Again" that song got nothing in the usa, it was clearly not played because of an agenda NOT to play them. And then them writing Diana's HUGE hit eaten alive, another huge uk worldwide hit, did nothing here. If Barry wouldnt have put his name on that, possibly a huge diana ross solo hit in the usa that she hadnt had in a bit. The respect came, TOO LATE in my book, alot of recognition after Andy's Death then Mo's death and again after Robin's

Ironically,in the early 80s,radio stopped playing the Bee Gees but the radio stations had no problems playing the records that the brothers produced for others.

'Guilty' album by Barbra Streisand (1980)

'After Dark' album by Andy Gibb (1980)

'Heartbreaker' album by Dionne Warwick (1982)

"Islands In The Stream" by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers (1983 hit written by the Bee Gees)

Of course, the brothers didn't do themselves any favors with their 1981 album Living Eyes,a very weak album and a disappointing follow-up to Spirits Having Flown disbelief

I saw the Bee Gees live twice and was dumbstruck at their harmonizing... all the vocals really, the perfection of them. They definitely exceeded my expectations.

Not sure I completely agree with your first statement. The guys did in fact have top 30 hits in the US spanning thirty years (including nine #1s), and you can't really have that kind of success without radio support. It was really at the beginning of the 80s when US radio tuned them out. Still, they had many top 10 hits and number 1s around the globe throughout the rest of their career. Thankfully America is not the world.

They should have just kept the After Dark tracks for themselves and released it in 1980 as the follow-up to Spirits Having Flown. Those songs are superior to anything on Living Eyes.

I like After Dark, especially the title track, Desire (a Spirits outtake), Warm Ride and I Can't Help It but I prefer Living Eyes overall.

Paradise, I Still Love You, Wildflower, Cryin' Every Day, Be Who You Are and the title track are all winners to my ears.

Shows you how powerful radio is and do not think other artist have not been treated the same way.
