New Slaves - kanye West

Check out his new song and video that he premiered last night. Why oh why does he come across soangry these days? I love him, his music, passion and vision but I wish he could tone it down a couple notches.

What do you guys think??

He fucking killed it last night on SNL! Say what you want about Kanye but that man is a true artist. I love the vibe of the first song, especially. Guns, you are right. That was some NIN shit right there. He should collaborate with Manson and or Reznor one day. I love it. Can't wait for that new album now. cool

I don't know how to feel about this new direction he's going in, and I'm a stan. I'm all for artists evolving though and he keeps it interesting for every album but not to the point that you went too left field. He's more angry now but that's what happens when you knock up Kim.

i can't get enough of Black Skinhead. His premier of New Slaves on buildings across the world was a brillaint idea. Love me some Kanye! When he's not being a huge douche lord that is.

I'm loving it. It's so minimalistic for Kanye. Usually he likes using big huge multi-instrumental samples. By all accounts, Yeezus is gonna be Ye's darkest, rawest and weirdest LP yet.

I'm hoping there's a bit of an 808s and Heartbreaks vibe to it as well. I love that album!

I really respect Kanye this was 100% left field and i like that!

Since 2011 every song he has done was very hit or miss and i was having doubts but i also had doubts about MBDTF and well i was beyond wrong on that smile

I don't know how I feel about two new angry songs back to back! I respect NIN but I don't listen to music like that very often.

I do like when Kanye puts some perspective on society, and this style shows versatility and something new FROM HIM.

I know what you mean about the songs being angry. I like it but I hope not every track has that same kind of vibe. I hope there's a little fun on the album too.

Musicslave

I may be the outcast here but I find, "New Slave" musically lazy. Only because he's using the same sound effect that he used in "Clique". That shit is annoying to me.

Even an old song like "All Falls Down" made some good points without sounding too dreary or mad.

Typical "mainstreamers" stereotype of a black man. "Ooh, he's angry" rolleyes

The old "angry black man" compartmentalization. Code for "don't listen to him; just leave him alone", right?

How about instead of giving in to social racism, people actually address the important things from his songs?

Forget basketball and his relationship with Kim. They are unimportant and none of our business (even though his comment about rich black men in interracial relationships with white women is very valid). How about we address the escalated violence in Chicago? That has been national news recently. Thay aren't calling it "Chiraq" for nothing.

And, as he said to them, "Stop all this goon shit."

I bet a lot of you don't even know that before the Skinheads were infiltrated by racist scum, there were actually black skinheads - back when the movement was about more than hate.

As long as black musicians/artists are talking about fucking, partying and materialism, its all good. As soon as something serious is brought up, its "whoa there, angry black guy; how about you calm down!" Those same people would never be calm under the same circumstances.

That condescending B.S. gets tiring because so many people would rather not think beyond their own immediate concerns or show or even feel compasion for anyone not exactly like them.

The truth is that it is just an excuse to defer the responsibility of human concern.

Here is a question: Why is it whenever a black man uses the word "slave" it is assumed that he's angry? Is it guilt?
