As for Oasis, I think it was George Harrison who said something to the effect that no one will even remember them 20 years from now. That being said, "Champagne Supernova" is an awesome song.

I've grown to like Noel Gallagher a bit. Liam not so much. But I prefer Jack White to both of them.

I have never ever understood this accusation against Oasis, except in the case of about five songs. I just don't hear it. Unless writing a good song makes you a Beatles ripoff - beecause that's the only real similarity I hear.

Noel made three very good records with Oasis (overrated but very good after all). He hasn't grown up well. Look at the careers of Damon Albarn after Blur or of Bernard Butler after Suede. Noel Gallagher is jealous of Jack White, but I'm afraid he is (or should be) jealous of several musicians of his generation that have reinvented themselves successfully, whereas his music has become frustratingly boring and empty.

The B-sides Noel wrote for Oasis are superior to most acts' lead singles. That said, the last catchy Oasis album worthy of repeated listens was Heathen Chemistry. Regarding his solo debut album, which was replete with filler, I sang along to the singles, but I wasn't interested in buying it.
