How is something like this not a hit?

That bass is madness. Acid jazz with a punk twist. Mike Watt is the shit.

Well you won't get any argument from me. (Full disclosure: I've worked with Watt in the past but that was after I was already a fan of his stuff.)

I wasn't surprised they didn't have hits at that time though. Something about them was a little too strange, too non-commercial. Even when they were doing records for Columbia.

While for me the Minutemen are even more great, Firehose deserves to be considered on its own merits. Their Sony albums were just reisued last year & have some of my favorite tracks on them.
