Proper get-out-of-your-face-and-put-yer-boogie-pants-on music. Bodes well for the album. biggrin

I just don't get the Pet Shop Boys. I find them incredibly overrated. This is more of the same, repetitive electronic sounds that go nowhere. Where is the melody and where is the song?

Ooh I'm digging this. It sounds so 80s. If the album sounds this way, I'll definitely get it.

Pet Shop Boys new album, "Electric", will now be released worldwide on July 15th (international dates vary) and is the first to appear on their own label x2 through Kobalt Label Services. Produced by Stuart Price, "Electric" features nine tracks in total – eight brand new songs plus a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s "The last to die" - and has a running length of 50 minutes. The British singer and rapper, Example, performs on one track, "Thursday". The album was recorded in London, Berlin and Los Angeles over the last six months with one track, "Fluorescent", written and recorded within the last month. Neil and Chris comment: “Our latest album often evolves as a response to our previous album and, whereas ‘Elysium’ had a reflective mood, ‘Electric’ is pretty banging! And working with Stuart Price on a studio album is something we have wanted to do for a very long time." The artwork is by Farrow.

Pre-orders for the album are listed below. The albums full track-listing is:

1. Axis
2. Bolshy
3. Love is a bourgeois construct
4. Fluorescent
5. Inside a dream
6. The last to die
7. Shouting in the evening
8. Thursday (featuring Example)
9. Vocal

Homie you need to invest time in learning more about the boys! they have lots of songs with more than just electronics everything ranging from full orchestras, opera singers & even rock guitars & some great melodies smile

No the album isnt even finished from what ive gathered. the Itunes one is the full 5 minute song. This is just the video/single edit thingy.

not completely convinced yet. somehow this feels more like a b-side. probably because

it hardly has any vocals. it reminds me of stuff like "euroboy" and "some speculation".

but it's nice to hear them getting back into some faster, heavier stuff. although "elysium"

is a pretty darn good album too.

short tracklist, but then, they've always got a ton of ace b-sides to every album so we'll

get our 15 tracks anyway i'm guessing.

still enjoying "one night" a lot, seriously, these guys make awesome b-sides.

from a first single.
