The amount of talented musicians calling CT home continues to surprise us.A quick review of the resumes of Norwalk's own, Freddy V (Fred Vigdor) and Guilford native, Mo Pleasure, the creative forces behind WaterSign, will surprise many that the nutmeg state is also home to two funky and legendary talents. Over the course of Freddy V.'s accomplished career, he has lent his fiery and soulful saxophone stylings to Michael McDonald, Bob Baldwin and currently Average White Band, where his seventeen year association with the band as up-front soloist, supporting keyboardist and horn arranger has earned him the distinction of longest serving member of the seminal soul band. Mo Pleasure began his illustrious journey in music with Ray Charles as a young bassist qqstraight out of the University of Connecticut. Since then, his musical dexterity as a keyboardist, bassist and trumpeter has served him well, as a sought after accompanist to legends like Natalie Cole, Michael Jackson, and Earth Wind & Fire. Mo currently holds down the keyboard/bassist/guitar slot with Average White Band. Completing the WaterSign front line on vocals – is Brent Carter. Brent spent ten years as the lead vocalist for legendary funk band, Tower Of Power, has appeared on Broadway in Hot Feet, a musical based on the music of Earth, Wind & Fire, and, since 2011, has been the lead vocalist with Average White Band, bringing impassioned vocal chops and well-rounded musicality to the band's repertoire.
Joining WaterSign on guitar will be a very special guest, New York studio legend, David Spinozza, who now calls Connecticut home. David has recorded with Paul McCartney, James Taylor, Aretha Franklin, John Lennon, Billy Joel, James Brown and countless others
Rounding out the rhythm section are Rocky Bryant (David Sanborn, Cyndi Lauper) on drums & another Connecticut native, David Livolsi (John Scofield, Bill Evans) on bass. As a collective, WaterSign elevates the jam session to its artistic heights, balancing a loose and funky approach with unmatched technical proficiency. Prepare to immerse yourself in the funky sounds of WaterSign.
