.

Ann Wilson is still rock & roll, without question. But remember the time when we all heard Nancy Wilson on lead for the first time?

Even though I love Ray Parker Jr's voice and songwriting and production, I kinda thought the better singer was Arnell Carmichael. Arnell is the other singer on "You Can't change That".

Good one! nod

Other than New Edition who else falls into this category?

Well this is a tough one, some would say the Beatles but you cant say there was a lead in that group, it was a co-lead, but interesting some say George Harrison was the best. So mainly there people go back and forth with John and Paul but neither was the leader. Ironically its hard to name one since most of what im thinking are groups with no- real leader. But you could say Phil Collins, though he wasnt the singer till peter left he was in the band, i prefer Phil's voice over Peter just because with Peter you gotta be in the mood to listen to Peter, you cant just turn on his music everyday.

Agree with everything you said.

A lot of times even groups have co-leads one of them is still regarded as the main co-lead. Like N'Sync...Justin was the main vocalist even JC sang quite a bit as well. O'Jay's kinda fall in this category also. So it can be a tad confusing, I suppose.

Other groups where the lead wasn't the best in the group:

N'Sync as I just mentioned

TLC

Cameo

Who do you think was the best in TLC? Chilli?

I guess you wont find ANYBODY mentioning Destiny's Child in this thread...LOL...When all 3 Ladies went Solo B-Girl proved she had the Diva-Chops...Michelle has a very unique Jazzy Voice on her and I HOPE she does a Jazz album one day. Kelly's voice is Mediocre @ Best but she still look Good & Bootified....

********************************************************************

Envogue.....I guess Terry wins for her Octaves. But did they really have a Lead singer?

************************************************************************

Boys II Men......Some say Wanya wasnt the Lead Vocalist but he was the only one Riffing 24/7. I don't want a Solo anything from him, but he's the PERFECt primary Lead singer for a Legendary Boy Band like the one he's in...

*************************************************

N'Sync......Justine was the lead Vocalist, wasn't he? The rest of the Guys were just there.

*********************************************************

Hanson.....I'm Just kidding...LOL.....MMMBop was the Jam...Make your head Bounce...

***************************************************************

Jodeci.....Ain't NOBODY out singing KC and his heavy singing Ass...KC sangs HARD...LOL...

**********************************************************************

SWV...Coko is probably one of the Industry's most SLEPT on Voices that SHOULD have been a Solo HIT. I Love her voice. It's all hers, no imitation.

************************************************************************

Xscape...Yeah the Lead singer had the BEST singing voice with Octaves but the 2 Background singers became RICHER. Wasn't their a 4th Chick in that Group? If so where she @?
