lol the song is #4 on itunes. How is that a flop? She's off to a great start. "Almost Home", the theme song she did for that children's movie a couple months back barely cracked the itunes top 100 at all. That was a flop. "#Beautiful" on the other hand is going over well with the fans.

#Mediocre. I'm completely underwhelmed by this song. Of course it will be a hit because there's so little worth listening to on the radio, and the bar has been set so low.

Mariah and her skimpy outfits She looks good though and so does Miguel.

Mariah is looking back like her old "Vi!sion of Love" days . She looks smoking hot & a decade younger!

I love the song. I like that she is not in your face with her vocal abilities on the track. I'm pretty sure it will be a longer version. Like Miguel did with his smash hit "Adorn". He released a short version first. He is a proven good songwriter. Writing for many other artist before his debut as rnb's new it man. Mariah looks very happy, I guess Nick is hitting all the right spots...

1. She does look fantastic and just as good as she did in the Honey video 15 years ago.
2. I really like the song and hope it does well for her.

But OMG this video. I firmly believe this woman is incapable of having a sincere moment on camera. Every look, smile, the posturing - it looks sooo unnatural and forced.

You're not a sexpot, sweetie! And you're not a good actress who can pull off being a sexpot for the camera! She makes herself look so desperate with that shit. Good LORD!

^^I agree every moment is too posed and fake. Although, she looks good in the video. She kind of looks like she's trying to hard to be the sexy young thing and clearly she is a MILF.

Yes! Agree with everything said here. She looks great for her age but the video is boring as hell and most of all, she's trying too hard to look sexy (but she's been doing this the past 5-6 years too so it shouldn't be shocking).

I saw the video on AI last night. All that posing she was doing was a bit over-kill. But, since she is considered an R&B diva, she's supposed to do everything to the extreme. I'm still bothered by the fact it just sounds too much like Miguel featuring Mariah Carey. When I watched the video last night, I didn't truly realize how long it took Mimi to enter the song with her vocal. Again, it's not a bad song at all. But, I felt she should have really taken ownership of the song with some really powerful vocals and some emotion.

I LOVED Miguel's Kaleidescope Dream. He sure is a great songwriter with interesting ideas. Adorn, The Thrill, the title track, Where's the Fun in Forever where all great songs.

Mariah's last albums from Emancipation through Memoirs of an imperfect angel (Sigh... what a silly title) had all great songs on it, especially Emancipation. Shake It Off is one of her best songs ever, and there's classic soul on Circles, Obsessed was infectious pop-rnb, Touch My Body was melodic and fun and even Aretha sung a version of it live.

But this songwriting/singing/producing collab between the two is exactly what you said: #Mediocre. It's so forgettable and unexpressive.

If it's becomes a hit, well... recently, say over the last few years, only very poor quality music has been making the top of the charts, except for Adele and Gotye's Somebody That I Used to Know.

I dont agree with your preface, and like I said above, I think its a very weak song. But I agree with what you said about the sexuality she displays in her videos, it's not only forced and fake but enduringly forced, she doesnt seem to be nowhere near of the awereness of that. Her sexual display worked on the Honey and Shake It Off videos, but that was that. There are countless embarassing examples of sexual display gone wrong in her videos. It's not really embarrassing the word. It's very much an unnecessary thing.

Like i mentioned before this is what you are going to get from her, accept it, it would be great for her to bust out with a Live Band doing some jazzy stuff not aimed at the charts, but this woman has been about the charts and being popular and the IN thing since day one, she was bred that way and she has never risked anything to step away from it. Its like if You are holding out for BEYONCE to actually do that "revolutionary" music she keeps hyping about and then when it comes out its the same theme and singing style she has been doing since Bills Bills Bills. Peeps you are never gonna get what you want from MC, this is who she is, and who she is going to be when all is said and done.

Agreed. I always thought Mariah was one of the more stunningly beautiful women in music, and while she is incredibly hot and sexy even at a MILF stage , her efforts to look that way seem contrived and desperate. She was incredibly hot in her "Honey" video because she was just being real. Ever since then she's been trying to vamp it up as a sexpot but looks corny instead.

But back to the song in question. I thought, "Wow, this is a nice new track by Miguel; how did he get Mariah to be in his video?" Then Mariah starts singing about halfway through the song, and it's supposed to be her song. At least it's not a complete guest track on her own material, and it sounds okay, but nothing super spectacular like her Butterfly or EoM days.

I wish she would have just gone head and titled the song Fucking Beautiful, though.

I would take this (and other new music) seriously if the video showed them in the studio making the song, rather than all this Bullshit posing. It's really annoying. i can't get past the song, due to the images.

Make two videos, one to take you seriously and one for eye candy.
